EMDR THERAPY

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a structured, research-supported therapy designed to help the brain reprocess distressing memories. This innovative approach helps individuals confront and integrate traumatic experiences, ultimately leading to a reduction in emotional distress. EMDR has been shown to be effective in treating various trauma-related conditions, offering a pathway toward healing and recovery. By utilizing bilateral stimulation, it facilitates the brain's natural healing, allowing for better emotional regulation and resilience.

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

How EMDR Works

Traumatic memories can become "stuck" in the nervous system, hindering healing.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) employs bilateral stimulation to help the brain safely reprocess these memories, reducing emotional distress.

This innovative technique allows individuals to find relief and integrate their experiences more healthily.

Theraphy Benefits

Clients frequently report significant improvements in their emotional well-being. Many have noted decrease in emotional triggers, leading to enhanced emotional stability.

Additionally, they often experience a better self-ception and a heightened sense of control over their thoughts, reactions, and everyday decisions.

These positive changes contribute to a better quality of life, empowering clients on their personal journeys.

What to Expect

EMDR consists of:

  • Assessment and preparation

  • Stabilization skills

  • Structured memory processing

  • Integration future planning

The process is carried out at a pace that emphasizes safety and emotional regulation.

DEEP BRAIN REORIENTATION (DBR)

Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR) is a trauma-focused therapeutic approach designed to help individuals process the deeper emotional and neurological impact of traumatic experiences.

DBR works with the brain’s natural processing systems to gently access and release trauma responses that may remain stored in the nervous system after overwhelming events.

I met Viola a couple of years ago when she was working at St Paul Mental Health and she proved herself to be a skilled clinician who is compassionate and passionate about the work that she did working with children, youth and their families. I highly recommend her for similar mental health therapist positions commensurate with her experience!
